Privacy Statement

At Hearth Therapy we collect and store only data appropriate to the delivery of safe therapy in line with the Health and Care Professions Council ethics and standards. This will always include some identifiable characteristics (name, address, next of kin) and will be stored confidentially, securely and separately to your personal therapy notes - these will be linked by a code.

Your identifiable characteristics and content of therapy notes will not be shared with other services unless there is a concern about your safety or the safety of someone else. In this instance, appropriate and relevant data will only be shared proportionately with agencies that can help support you and your family. This falls within my duty of care and as such does not require consent, however I will always endeavour to be open with you about the need to share and the process.

Under data protection, you have the right to access your notes should you wish to, and the right to rectification of content if it is not accurate.

Your data is stored for 7 years, after which point they will be destroyed in a sensitive and secure way.

If you have concerns about the use of your data, this can be discussed with ourselves, or alternatively you can contact the ICO https://ico.org.uk/
