Hearth Therapy

Specialist psychological therapies for parents and parents-to-be

About Hearth Therapy

I understand that the journey from conception through to pregnancy, birth and raising an infant/s, is a profound one. For almost all, it raises complicated thoughts and feelings about their own experience of being parented, their identity, their relationships, and connection with baby. This is a normal process at a transitional period in an individual's life, regardless of whether this is their first or last baby. All would hope to find meaning and joy within this experience, but at times this can become eclipsed by intense, frequent and/or enduring emotional stress and grief.

I aim to provide a safe, nurturing and compassionate space in which individuals can share and explore their unique journey into parenthood, and discover that they are good-enough; offering a hearth away from home. Practicing inclusively and in a way that honours and respects the diverse identities and experiences of my clients is essential. However, I identify that there is always space for professional learning and growth, and I am committed to continuing this journey.

Areas of specialism in connection with the conception, antenatal and postnatal period:

Anxiety

Baby loss

Birth trauma

Bond with infant

Depression

Perinatal OCD

Parental confidence

Parental identity

Pregnancy after perinatal loss

I use the terms parent, antenatal, postnatal and perinatal to be inclusive and welcoming of all gender identities, and birthing and non-birthing parents.

Services

I would wholeheartedly recommend Chloe as a therapist. I have had both art psychotherapy and EMDR with her and these experiences have changed how I parent my young children. I felt both seen and understood by Chloe. She took my past history seriously, holding it lightly, with the utmost respect. I felt that I could tell her anything and would not be judged. Chloe is very human in her approach, she never presumed to know any of the answers to my problems, and yet we arrived at many of them together following her careful observations and skilled therapeutic approach. Thank you Chloe for all you have done for me and my family.
